Avoid Application Rejection
Common reasons why photos are rejected by the automated validator or during manual scrutiny:
- If your PNG has a transparent background that you want to preserve, convert to WebP instead of JPG — JPG will replace transparency with white.
- Do not convert PNGs that contain text or screenshots with sharp pixel edges to JPG at below 85% quality — JPEG compression creates "ringing" artifacts around sharp edges that make text look blurry.
- For photographs (selfies, landscapes, product shots), 85–90% JPG quality is indistinguishable from the original PNG to the human eye while being 5–10× smaller.
